Offshore Marine Academy & Careers In Offshore
Offshore Marine actively promote the below philosophy and services to all personnel with significant emphasis on competence:
- A clear and varied career path to potential, new and existing employees & consultants
- Personnel development and welfare via structured internal and external software/theory training modules and programs, seminars and discussion groups
- Encourage multi-skilling/cross-training to aid the above with respect to variety offered and team playing/integration. This increases personnel’s knowledge of the OMM integrated software process
- Continued personnel assessments via training and offshore performance/competency (OMM are members of IMCA) and via one to one line manager sessions provide details through which the individual can better themselves and achieve higher standards/role within or for the company
The above ensures that OMM provide their clients and projects with highly motivated, skilled and competent personnel.
Offshore Marine are pro-active in addressing the current personnel shortage and aging workforce issues within the industry via its annual apprenticeship course, recruitment drives and the increasing of external industry awareness, at a local, national and international level.
The full academy training portfolio will be listed here shortly for commencement from September 2009 and into 2010/ beyond. Courses will include, but not be limited to, the following core areas and be delivered either internally by experienced OMM lecturers or by external training service providers:
- Offshore survey software (navigation & acquisition, data processing, digital video & QC)
- Survey hardware
- AutoDesk accredited AutoCAD courses
- Survey theory modules
- GIS (Geographical Information Systems)
- IT (Information Technology)
- Survey & submarine cable/ trenching appreciation (theory)
- Submarine cable & wind farm theory
- Marine security
- Offshore Marine apprenticeship (12 month sandwich course)
The above theory and software courses can also be delivered by OMM to their client base, either at our training facilities or the clients.
OMM also believe in enhancing and progressing our staff’s and contractors personal development and skills out with our sector/specialised training and actively encourage third party development courses with the likes of Reed Training, Learn Direct and PDL, for example.
